Download the book of abstract from hereThe international research and innovation symposium “Dengue amidst the pandemic: Improving preparedness and response for multi-hazard scenarios -2022” was successfully concluded on 16th and 17th March 2022 at Water's Edge Hotel, Colombo. A total of selected 36 oral presentations and 50 poster presentations involving over 150 scientists and professionals took part in the conference, in addition to the most insightful plenary sessions held alongside. Furthermore, 3 keynote and guest speakers shared their insights stimulating the invaluable discussions and debate around the conference theme. Pre-conference session 01
This programme will focus on enhancing the skills of Public Health Midwives (PHM) on community empowerment through effective communication in Dengue.
Essentials of community empowerment, risk communication and health promotion in Dengue will be discussed, using scenario based interactive sessions. Supervising Public Health Midwives (SPHM) and PHM of Kandy and Kegalle districts will participate for the programme.

This programme will focus on novel interventions in integrated Vector Management (IVM) and vector bionomics in Malaria and Dengue. Programme will be attended by Regional Malaria Officers, Entomologists and Health Entomology Officers in selected high-risk districts

Pre-conference session 03
This scenario-based training will focus on empowering Public Health Inspectors (PHI) on preparedness and response to multi hazard situations including multiple biological hazards. PHI of Galle and Matara districts will attend the session.

Introducing a novel dengue forecasting model to regional health authorities across Sri Lanka. This two-day workshop will introduce evidence based novel techniques in Dengue forecasts, incorporating different meteorological, hydrological and epidemiological parameters. Sarvodaya Shramadana Samithiya, largest Community Based Organization in Sri Lanka will partner with Huddersfield University, UK and Ministry of Health for the event.
